Welcome to Quad Area LIHEAP
Quad Area’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded
program that helps low income households with their home energy bills in the following Parishes: Ascension, East Feliciana, Livingston, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, Washington
and West Feliciana.
ENERGY ASSISTANCE:
The LIHEAP program may provide energy assistance once per season (HEATING/COOLING) and/or a crisis payment once every 12 months upon qualification as funds are available.
LIHEAP BENEFIT REQUIREMENTS:
LIHEAP benefits are based on your household size, total income, fuel usage, utility allowance and other factors. Yearly income must not exceed the state median income guidelines.
The following documentation required to apply includes the following:
1. DRIVER'S LICENSE or government issued
picture ID for applicant.
2. SOCIAL SECURITY CARD for applicant
(exceptions for applicants ages 60+/disabled)
3. SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER for all
household members (social security card or
any government issued document containing
name and full social security number)
4. PROOF OF RESIDENCE valid ID, current
lease or rental agreement, Section 8 or other
househol bill. Energy bill's service address
must match the proof of residency
5. UTILITY ALLOWANCE via lease or current
Section 8 paperwork (if applicable).
6. UTILITY ENERGY BILL(S) current gas and
electric bills
7. CURRENT DISCONNECT NOTICE (crisis
applicants only)
8. PROOF OF INCOME last 4 check stubs for
all household members ages 18+
9. CURRENT AWARD LETTER for all house-
hold members who reveive: SSI, SSA,
Retirement, VA Benefits, Pension
10.ZERO INCOME household members ages
18+ may be asked to provide/complete:
• Zero Income statemen form
• Zero income Budget Worksheet
• Contribution Statement Form
• Lay off letter from the last 30 days
(CSBG clients only)

LIHEAP appointments are made by phone only, on a first come first serve basis when funding is available.
